December 2009
1 (and only) thing I was scared of at her house:
- The basement. It was so creepy (I don't think I was over that until about 14).
2 things my Grandma never said "no" to:
- Can I have a cookie?
- Will you play a game with me?
3 important things Grandma taught me:
- Develop your talents and share them with others.
- True and unconditional love.
- What a real testimony of the gospel is and how to share it.
4 favorite things about Grandma's house:
- The garden -- strawberries, raspberries, carrots, plums!
- Bed after bed of flowers. I liked to stroll around with her while she showed me what was in bloom.
- The barbie clothes. Never lost their glamour.
- Did I mention the cookies?
5 memories of Grandpa I don't want to forget:
- Bowling when family came home to visit.
- Being allowed inside the service bay at the station to go to the drinking fountain.
- How he instantly loved Ryan and always wanted to chat with him.
- Letting me stay up late and watch TV when I was at his house.
- Grandpa at every sporting event (or activity I was involved in), sitting in the bleachers ALWAYS on the back row just to the left of the center aisle. I always went up to give them both of hug and say hi. One time they went to an awards assembly I couldn't attend, just in case I might get something.
6 memories of Grandma I don't want to forget:
- Trips to the "crick" and collecting snake grass along the way.
- Strawberry Quick
- Games of croquet on the lawn
- HiC juice from a can in little white juice cups for breakfast
- African violets in the kitchen window ledge
- "Helping" her turn off and lock up the organ after sacrament meeting.
